Thankful Daydreamer? via supersimbo.......... November 17th, 2008 at 22:26

My mind wanders, i daydream! Its a horrible affliction sometimes and it has lead me into the most terrible delusions of grandeur on so many occasions. But how? I have been so blessed in this life with some of the people i know and have met but chances are you have caused me much thought & trouble regardless of who you are. If you are well connected in the music industry, which some people i know are, then i will have dreamt about working with or for you. If you work in a really cool coffee shop then i have dreamt of being your chief barista. If you are a kick-ass graphic designer, then there is a good chance i have thought about doing what you do. In fact, this one probably drives me more insane than any other. I have been told, rather kindly that i could make some serious money doing...

Having a Beard……. via supersimbo.......... November 11th, 2008 at 21:10

I asked on twitter & facebook for some blog post suggestions, why? Well, it can be fun to do that, goodness knows i often am not sure if i can really blog whats on my mind so its good to hide behind the ideas of others. Guess what? The most common response was in relation to "my beard." YES, thats right, "my beard!" Last year i took part in the "just for fun" shenanigans known as bearduary, i fully expect that i will dive into that again in 2009. The only problem being that it is now not uncommon for me to go 8 weeks without any trimming of my beard, except for maybe my upper lip which is necessary to avoid eating hair all day long! Anyway, i often wondered as a younger man, what a beard would be like & after many attempts and much scratching i finally managed to get the full beard just...

The image below is "upload 24" on designbysupersimbo. A while back i decided i should create a simple blog to keep an online record of designs i have worked on, so far i know at least one person who has looked at it! Ok, its not that bad and traffic is not the point but i want to keep adding to it, to show what i can do & also to chart the progress of my creativity. http://www.text-link-ads.com/xml_blogger.php?inventory_key=PH203EOCDRY2ZAL1H02V...

Edinburgh part 4 via supersimbo.......... November 4th, 2008 at 22:13

So all in all we had a good time in Edinburgh last week and as i sat at the airport i was quietly thankful for the good flight over. I am not a great traveller in any kind of moving vehicle so a good flight is a blessing and lets face it i do not fly too often so im not very experienced. Anyway, we boarded and took off and were close to Belfast, actually close enough to see the ground, when the pilot evidently had a change of heart and started to climb into the clouds again! No trouble, no worries, just a slight tail wind issue that caused him to go up for a few moments and have another attempt. We did that and then when the land was in sight, wayhey we started to climb again, this time with a bit of turbulence to accompany the muttering questions of those around us. The lady beside us...

Edinburgh part 2 via supersimbo.......... October 30th, 2008 at 20:11

So it was cold in Edinburgh but we managed to stroll around & see lots without freezing to death. There were plenty of breaks for starbucks and other such necessary refreshments. I have to say that whilst wandering around the city it is impossible not to be drawn in by the wonderful architecture, no matter how many times you visit. We love it. On saturday night we arrived in the middle of an 'Scottish October Monsoon' which was lovely! As a result we got to the hotel and quickly found a little pizza place just around the corner & wow! I do not need to blog any more about the food we ate cuz this place was the best Pizza iv ever tasted. If you are ever in Edinburgh, go to the grassmarket & find 'Made in Italy,' it rocks! And their espresso was perfect. Oh, and their Ice-cream was amazing!...

Blog Break………. via supersimbo.......... October 22nd, 2008 at 21:01

image As of now i will be away from my blog until next wednesday! Il be online tomorrow & friday but officially offline and completely away from internet technology until next wednesday! It will be good for me, i reckon. Most of you know i try to be all over this place they call the internet, it is a battle as Dave's cartoon suggests. I find myself agreeing with more and more of the "10 signs that you may be a be a blog addict" and whilst that is not bad, a break is needed from time to time! Cartoon by Dave Walker. Find more cartoons you can freely re-use on your blog at We Blog Cartoons. Please pray for us that we do not go mental and search the city we will be in this weekend for an internet cafe!! ha!See you next...

If you were “A” James Bond via supersimbo.......... October 20th, 2008 at 20:56

which Bond would you be? Well, i think id be Roger Moore, pretty much because in the face of all the danger and life threatening situations i would definitely benefit from his dry wit! The eyebrow is also worthy of mention! I have the eyebrow, i can do it, obviously not as effectively as Roger or i would be a film star but nonetheless it can be raised when required! Cherith would also want to be Roger Moore, and simply because of the lovely safari suits that he donned in the 70's when portraying Bond! She has a soft spot for a belted jacket! We saw Roger Moore on The Jonathan Ross Show the other night and he was quite the gent, funny too for an old guy. Legend! No disrespect in the Bond area to all the others, this is not a contest to see who is the BEST bond, simply a thought provoking...

Artists……… via supersimbo.......... October 18th, 2008 at 11:26

image Iv just been reading this interview and a few things have stood out! I'll just throw the quotes at you; "Don’t rely on the church community to sustain your work, get out and engage with the great unwashed.""If it really ain’t working out, walking away to do something else is not a sign of failure.""Work out, through some honest, scrutiny if you what you’re making/doing is actually up to scratch by the respective industry standard. Being a christian and an artist does not mean God has automatically given you a right to be critically acclaimed or internationally recognised, so be prepared to work out if your output needs improvement.""Creative’s shouldn’t be on a church staff though they need to be immersed in their industry and shaping their small sphere of influence through...

Wrecked Britain…….. via supersimbo.......... October 15th, 2008 at 15:44

Quentin Letts is apparently a brilliant Parliamentary sketchwriter, according to the Daily Mail. I was just alerted to his 'genius' over at asbo Jesus and i HATE these things. 50 people who wrecked Britain? And we are meant to see him as some authority on Britain and why it is fast declining into a bigger mess than we would like? Ok, i am not particularly bothered that he slates Graham Kendrick heavily in the list, it is probably socially acceptable in most Christian Circles to slag Kendrick off a bit. Its like Cliff Richard really, we know he is a legend BUT he should retire for the good of our ears. Really though, while these poor folks were wrecking Britain what was Letts doing? He was making a list of things to give the Daily Mail readers a chuckle about while they commute to work!...

weather…….. via supersimbo.......... October 12th, 2008 at 22:40

Whats the weather like where you are? I love it when people have nothing else to talk about and they resort to weather chat. I also love it when people consistently refer to weather as 'bad!" Can you detect the sarcasm here? I do not love these 2 examples, i find them mildly amusing. I remember hearing Billy Connolly say once that there was no 'bad weather,' just 'weather,' which i found funny yet true. So how is it for you?http://www.text-link-ads.com/xml_blogger.php?inventory_key=PH203EOCDRY2ZAL1H02V...

Agenda…………. via supersimbo.......... October 10th, 2008 at 21:42

image "Some people want to do things because they are interesting. Some people want to do things because they work. Some people want to do things because everyone else is doing them. And some people are satisfied/scared/shy/lazy and don't do anything.Think about blogging or buying a new pair of shoes or voting for a candidate or picking one career over another. Different people have very different agendas. The key in understanding someone's actions is understanding their agenda. That salesperson who does everything by the book is not interested in the thrill of discovery. That retired steel worker that is hesitating to vote for your candidate is wondering what everyone else is going to do. And that unpredictable blogger keeps changing the rules because the rules bore him." Seth Godin what is your...

Thomas Skaar via supersimbo.......... October 7th, 2008 at 23:28

I was not going to blog this story for a few reasons but in the midst of an online conversation tonight with Stevo some things were put into perspective and i decided i would just say a few words. I did not know Thomas personally. He was sound technician for Compass who we have gotten to know and love over the last year via atiG and Philip. Thomas suddenly and tragically died on Monday night, so far almost 300 people have joined a group on facebook to pay their respects to this seemingly, much loved and talented guy. I am not sure what else to say, please join us in prayer as we remember Thomas's family and friends and the Compass guys as they come to terms with this awful tragedy. If you leave any comments i will transfer them to the group on...

Memory Lane Monday no.13 via supersimbo.......... October 6th, 2008 at 11:42

When i was about 15 or 16 i had the cold all the time! Literally every two weeks just as i was getting rid of it i would get it again, this went on for probably a year, maybe 2. So, when i get the cold it brings back fond memories for me! We have been back & forth with the cold now for about 2 weeks and last night i felt like i had a brick in my nasal passage. I hardly slept and as a result i dont think Cherith slept much either, apparently my snoring was monumental. I kept waking up cuz i could hardly breath and here we are this morning sniffing, sneezing, cold and complaining! Just like way back in the day! hahahttp://www.text-link-ads.com/xml_blogger.php?inventory_key=PH203EOCDRY2ZAL1H02V...

Pointless waste of time? via supersimbo.......... October 3rd, 2008 at 21:21

image Cherith called this a 'pointless waste of time' on her blog. How does it work? Well, Turn your I-pod on, Do the Shuffle and answer each question accordingly. I cheated once and skipped past a stupid one BUT other than that this is exactly how my iPod dealt my answers out, some of them are very interesting, perhaps too true? The first one made me YELP!!The Questions:1. How are you feeling today? Hear me Lord - George Harrison2. Will you get far in life? The Sidewinder Sleeps tonight - REM3. How do your friends see you? Apples aka Gino- Buddy Rich4. Will you get married? Lose it All - Rush Of Fools5. What is your life’s theme song? Whistlin' Past the Graveyard - Tom Waits6. What is the story of your life? Sweeet Classic’s via supersimbo.......... October 2nd, 2008 at 20:37

So i bought me some Nike's after a sudden realization that winter was just around the corner, more rain was likely and Converse are not great in the rain! I endured the train journey and short walk home with soaking wet feet, promising myself new footwear the whole way home. Nike Sweet Classic's and yes they are plain and simple but oh so sweet.
