Jade Goody has pulled out of the "Bigg Boss" show in India after a cancer scare, some reports suggest she HAS cervical cancer and some are saying she MAY have it. I am not a fan, i do not follow her career and i was not even aware she had travelled to India to do their version of Big Brother. The thing is, when she speaks the nation usually hears her. The tendency for her to say the stupidest things is incredible, she caused worldwide condemnation 2 years ago when she made racist remarks about a fellow contestant on live tv BUT regardless of all that, this is awful. I just started my final week in the Ballymena Bookshop after almost 3 years. William is learning fast and will be grand once he settles into the surroundings. I remember those first couple of weeks of trying to find my feet and learn fast, i said a little about it here. I tried to learn as much about the christian book and music world as possible and as quickly, i think i did ok in the end! We just got home from FUEL08! The whole day was almost ruined by the terrible weather we have had all week. It rained non-stop all day today and early this morning the health & safety people shut down FUEL! Plan B was created as best as it could be and one outdoor venue changed to two indoor venues. The main stage acts all played this evening at Ballymena Leisure Center in a big echo chamber of a room but the sound guys did a great great job with a poor location. When we arrived The Psalm Drummers were playing some pretty neat grooves. The [crave]: boys followed with a storming and deafening set, they rocked! Today i saw a young mother struggling with 3 kids as i walked out of town. They were just being kids, messing about and for a split second i felt sorry for her. This afternoon we ate some light lunch and zoomed off to the beach early to beat the rush!! When we arrived it was pretty busy but when we left at around 4pm the car park was mental and the beach had gotten crazy during the time we lazed in the sun. It is such a long time since we did this and frankly we are not professional beach people. We did not bring all the necessary and helpful items that one would usually drag onto the sand. One towel, some bottled water, some food, 2 camera's and sunglasses! In short though, here is the skinny on the whole fiasco; On the morning of July 22nd 2008 he received a cease and desist letter threatening legal action unless he removed 75 posts from his Cartoon Church blog by lunchtime - i.e., half a day’s notice. These 75 posts had reported the deterioration and alleged mismanagement over a 2 year period in a UK book chain called SPCK, which had been taken over by a company run by Mark Brewer. This morning thousands of Orange Men will take to the streets and roads to 'celebrate' the 318th anniversary of the battle of the Boyne in which William of Orange defeated King James. Last night firefighters were called out to deal with 49 incidents as hundreds of eleventh-night bonfires were lit across Northern Ireland. Fire crews came under attack in counties Antrim and Londonderry. Stones were thrown in four incidents but no injuries were reported. There was also rioting in Portadown that left 13 police officers injured. Nice and peaceful as always...

Ok, i am off work today BUT i have been finding that when i am off from my day job that i am seldom actually off from work of some kind. Last weekend we had a great couple of days off, switched off the phones, didnt look at emails etc etc. The thing was when i checked back into normality on Tuesday last week, the emails and messages had just piled up and left me with even more to do! I will keep changing my banner every other day if i do not stop myself! It happens when "we" take photo's, i look at them and think "oh there is a banner in that one." In the last year i have had people saying i have lost some weight, and yes, i have. Not loads but a little! More importantly though, is that my hair is getting thinner on top. A couple of years ago the album 'Open' by Jason Morant defined my spring in work, it played many days and we loved it. Well, spring 2008 may have an album of equal importance! Take me Anywhere by Chris Taylor came in on friday and i said to Andru "lets give it a spin and see what this is like." Yes, sometimes i love those random unknowing moments that surprise us! BEC have some pretty good artists and this guy has given us another great sounding album with a bit of an edge. I like a "bit of an edge." I have seen a lot of Easter blogging, read a lot of "He is Risen" and "Jesus is Alive" comments on facebook, twitter and all the usual spots. We went to Church this morning and yep, the service was nice. The pre-schooler who told me to close my eyes when the Minister was praying was a funny moment and then we went to Cherith's parents for dinner. I think what i am saying is that today was nice but right now i feel like i should be saying more on my blog about Easter, about Jesus having risen and about what that means to me. I have to be honest though and say that whilst i completely understand the importance of Easter and i believe with all iv got that Jesus is risen, i feel like i have never engaged with it in the way that perhaps i could or should, at least not this year anyway.
